About Miller, Tara
Millers have been ranching at Big Piney, WY for 140 years. Their ranch, 'Miller Land and Livestock' was built from raising beef cattle and good using horses. That is still what keeps the ranch thriving.
Presently, Mike Miller (NRCHA Hall of Fame Inductee) is at the helm of the ranch. Helping him are his wife Tara, Son’s Will and Wes, Kaleb (Will’s son) and Blu (Wes’s son). Kaleb and Blu are the 7th generation cowboys – it looks like the ranch is going to be in good hands for quite a while longer.
Good horses have always been highly appreciated and sought after on the ranch. Seven generations now have paid a lot of attention to their horses. Mildred Miller’s father had hundreds of horses and so did she; In 1941Mildred had 3 inspected by the Quarter Horse Ass .- all three mares were approved and registered the first year of the AQHA. As fences and horse trailers came along the herd has downsized but the Millers still use many horses on the ranch – just about every day. In 2021, the AQHA honored the ranch with the Best Remuda Award.
The ranch has raised world class performance horses (including 5 Supreme Reined Cowhorses), rodeo horses (including PRCA horses), a few race horses and most importantly -- good ranch horses that make work efficient and enjoyable. You can run into nice horses with Miller's 67 on their left hip all over the country, and you know they were raised by cowboys in cow country!
Though it is not entirely up to date, you can see more of Miller Land and Livestock on their website – Miller67.com.
